Still and behind the scenes photos of "O Lugar". / Fotos de bastidores e filmagens do documentário "O Lugar".

"O Lugar" was supposed to be a documentary about Ponte Nova, but it ended up being prohibited to be exhibited. Well, the only thing I know is that my pictures are with me, and for that reason I bring them to light. I worked for free, so at least I have the right to show them to people.

This documentary was a collective idea of the people who were taking a Cinema Workshop on June, 2009.

Intriguing. / Intrigante.

That was one of those moments when a scene catches a photographer instead of the opposite.
How intriguing can a shadow of a bird be? It isnt'. That's right. But what if the shadow of such a bird was created by a twisted leaf? That is something else! Therefore I had to register it.
Here it is. I hope you like it.

Testimony.

I've had my moments abroad and that was one of the things I had dreamt of untill it finally happened.
I've already said about dreamings coming true here, but now it is time to talk about other things that are important in life and that I only noticed after those moments in a foreing territory. God and Family
So many weird things; ups and downs; evil people telling fake stories setting up against others, a total disaster, a dream out of the sudden became a nightmare.
I hereby testify that if it wasn't for my faith in God and all the prayers I wouldn't have survived the pressure. There were moments that I saw myself alone, no friends were around even when all I needed was a small talk, so I talked to God, and I might say that he sent someone one night to listen to me, because at that moment it was what I needed the most, to be heard.
Gosh! It was somewhat magic, scary (if I stop to think about it) but magic!
After that experience abroad, I had a second one and that was even harder, worse, exausting and something to forget, and that's what makes it a turning point of my life, I had to cut it short and even having spent a big amount of money to embark on that shit and to get out of it, my mother never ever questioned me neither judged me, she simply helped me and after those bad experiences I could finally see that friends, even the ones you call best friends are not always there, some even end up f..ing you up, but family never does, at least family never did. We argue, we yell at each other, we loose our tempers but we are always there, and what about my friends? They are no longer called friends, I refer to them as ex-colleagues but I could easily call them "acquaintances from college".
God and family, thanks for everything!

Cultural events in Ponte Nova.

We are struggling to keep that flame on. It is hard, nobody said it would be easy but we embraced the cause and are step by step doing our job.
People tend to say that Ponte Nova has nothing, but the people who say that are the people who don't leave their houses to watch a theatrical play or a concert, some of them don't even read the paper in order to know what is happening in the city. Anyway! As a minister of a church in Orlando once said, be a doer, I'm being.

Having a mint cigarret and a cappuccino. What a combination huh?

This picture was taken in Tiradentes - Minas Gerais - Brazil. There will be a whole section of pictures and texts about that town, so hold on, I'm feeling cold and sleepy right now, so I'll do it tomorrow, nope, later, 'coz it is already tomorrow. Gosh!

Here we are.

Here we are. The three of us enjoying the cold spring time in New York. For those who read my last post, these are my companions, (from left to right) Fernando Portes, Me and Breno Cordeiro.

This is me in New York City. A dream come true. God knows for how long I waited for that moment to come, and the good thing is that I went there with two mates, one very smart and a great friend and partner and the other one is a man with no boudaries, a friend, but at the same time, a person who pushes your buttons real hard. I'm glad God gave me that amazing present, a whole pack trip to N.Y.C, which was the trip itself and the companions.
Thank you God for being present in my life.

Greetings everybody!

I hereby present to you my work as a photographer and some as a graphic-designer.

For years I have tried to build a website thru which I could bring my art to a bigger number of viewers, I’ve always felt that they should be seen outside my home town, but even having them on Facebook, I knew that a webstie or even blog would do a better job.

My journey in photography started off when I was still in college and for a particular reason I realized the power of a good image, I noticed that they could cause a great impact on people. I starte using images on my class works, back in 1999. I presented them on PowerPoint, before classmates who literally turned their back on those who were presenting their works, and using PowerPoint, blending the texts of my work and the images related to it, I managed to make a couple of them look at the screen, and it didn’t matter if it was a glance or for a few minutes, they looked into my direction.

A former classmate once told me that I was the pioneer on using the PowerPoint there, I liked that, but then came the consequences, I had to do the follow up, and one thing led to another, I got involved more and more with the world of photography, studying it, doing researches, being presented to the newly-born image processing software named Photoshop and consequently taming it, I am still doing it though, because it never stops growing.

My history with photography is way bigger than that, there is a lot to be place between these lines above, but I don’t think your patience will let you got until the end, so I decided to sum it up.

Enjoy my website, enjoy my work and let me hear from you.
